We know that, for a man, going into a lingerie shop and picking out undergarments for his lucky lady is tantamount to doing the weekly shop - nude.

With this in mind, we’ve come up with a few top tips for making sure your time and money are well spent and while we at Tooti Boo are a lovely, friendly bunch in the flesh, we’ve decided to offer an online shop with all the choice, and more, of a high street store but with none of the sidelong glances and flushed faces that you may experience with the high street shopping trip.

Take your time deciding on the best bra and nicest knickers for your beau (without worrying that other shoppers are looking at you with one of those sidelong glances).

Which leads us to point deux. While you may think thongs are thrilling, she may not. What we’re getting at is, stick to what she likes. A balconette babe won’t necessarily fall for the fit of a full-cup (check our bra style guide if we’ve lost you).

But...

Don’t be boring. While a supportive sports bra or nursing bra may be essential it is unlikely that, come her birthday/anniversary/Valentines Day (delete as applicable) she will see it that way. We at Tooti Boo have loads of luxurious lingerie choices that are super-comfy too so there’s really no excuse.

As far as colours or prints go - pay attention to what she wears. Is she bright and vibrant or more of a pretty pretty girl who sways toward pastel colours. Or does she never stray far from her simple black, white and nude? Plump for a bra that reflects this and you won’t go far wrong.

And, ask a stupid question but, do you know her size? What you're looking for is a combination of a number and a letter, for example 34G; the ‘34’ is her back size (in inches) and the ‘G’ is her cup size. A bit of detective work now means she can wear her gift as soon as she receives it rather than waiting for an exchange. Remember when you were about ten and got that remote controlled car but it didn’t include batteries? Exactly.
